Professional Positions

Professor, Department of Community Health and Wellness , LaGuardia Community College, CUNY. New York, NY. September 2014– Present. 
As  a Professor and Program Director for the Mental Health: Human Services program at LaGuardia Community College I teach and mentor students within the Human Services program as well as Health Sciences students in other programs (Urban Health, Human Services, Nursing, OTA/ PTA, Nutrition) as well as other majors. My primary teaching areas are Individual and Group Counseling, Community Health, Drugs, Society and Human Behavior, and Human Sexuality.  Counseling courses are based in evidence supported approaches and feature intensive lab training in Motivational Interviewing . My pedagogical style draws on humanistic approaches and is grounded in the theory of expandable intelligence.
